NOTES ON PROMOTIONS, RECRUIT, and PLATOONS

PROMOTIONS
Congratulations to the newly promoted officers/leaders and, once again, great to see you all back in play again! All the full time players are vets of MAG and KZ3, and so I have promoted you ALL to allow for recruiting purposes. Please inform CRUSADER_X_ of any additions.
Thanks!

AND Congrats again!
Been a long while (in PSN terms) since MAG and KZ3 :)
Good to see you all online and well.

RECRUITING

Effectively all the members of EYE in BF3 should be on the look out for fun, enthusiastic players who would enjoy our style and embrace our simple rules. Meet a nice player and want to get him/her into the game with us? GOOD!

Please feel free to pass on our clan link
http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/platoon/2832655391304847573/
Where they may apply and officers/leaders may approve them.

Or they can go to our newish facebook fan page for more info:

Remember: We are looking for fun folks who are concerned with the WIN and having FUN, not their personal ratios.  KDR and such is very nice , but not representative of of EYE or why we play: FUN.
EYE sees it as FUN to win, and/or get crushed trying.
EYE looks to recruit a few more oddballs - support and 'killers' - for just those purposes!

PLATOONS
I have received a few notes about alliances and multiple clan/platoon memberships and just wanted to clarify the official EYE position on this subject to avoid any future drama:

EYE will be accepting members who serve in other platoons on an individual basis. Certain platoons will be shown preferred status due to friendships and alliances in other games.
These alliances will be made known to officers and members.
Here is they key thing to remember: If a player signs up with EYE, they sign up for the rules. It does not matter
what TAG the player wears on the field with us.
If the player breaks those rules while playing with EYE and does so intentionally and consistently, they will be removed from our group. No need to break an old alliance over an individual's choice.
Currently, with the Platoon this size and no intentions of mass recruiting, this is probably all moot / not applicable, the above is clarification's purpose is NOT to single any current players out, but rather to avoid possible FUTURE drama.
Any comments, ideas,  or concerns - PLEASE let me know! As an EYE operative, your input is critical and important.
Good luck!

See you on the battlefield!

Beta Day!

Battlefield 3 Beta day is here folks!
Now anyone on PSN can download the OPEN Beta test for multiplayer online BF3.
EYE hope to see some of you online in the next few days.
Some improvements since the last post. Matchmaking problems seem to be solved.
Ripper and I were able to join several games together, but due to the lack of clan tags in the Beta, there has been a bit of an issue with getting into the same aquad in game. With just the two of us in the same room, it is no big deal...but with big groups I could see it being a pain in the @$$. Hopefully it is a bug that will be removed with the addition of tags.
That said, I have a feeling this game may be the
same as BFBC2 as far as clan support goes.
In that DICE game ANYONE can simply type in the tag to join the clan.
In fact I would go to say this game is MUCH like BFBC2. It looks better, is smoother, has bigger maps, and has an improved destruction engine - but it is a similar game in MP.

BF3 First Impressions

First impressions after about 45 min of play.
This game looks really good. I mean REALLY good.
Flows nicely. I experienced a slight chop in one round, but nothing too serious.
This is a level based shooter. You kill, assist, fix, protect, attack etc to get xp and that unlocks weapons and abilities. The destruction engine is awesome. The map that is currently running ins 'metro', set in Paris and the current mode is 'rush'. Folks familiar with BFBC 1&2 will be familiar with this mode.
Bugs so far seem to be with matchmaking and voice. Many of these abilities as seen in BFBC2 appear to be inactive -again prob due to beta testing.
I have invited Swizz (and he me!) several times with no luck.

Initial impression is good.
LOTS of potential for good times.
EYE Look forward to seeing you on there!
